Authority Zero: Stories of survival
03/08/10 || Altmer
Holy shit, what the hell is this? The new Lagwagon? I don’t know what the fuck this is, but I hope it dies down on me as this is the type of punk (not metal whatever the distorted guitars may have you pretending) that pisses me off – it’s the kind of modern punk Rise Against and friends would make. Well, I am not 15 and an anarchist and I’ve moved away from this type of bullshit. That being said, the riffs are kinda catchy, but wear out faster than tires on old asphalt. And there’s twelve songs of this stuff on the album (excepting the lame opening track). Also something on this album sounds like a bad cross between reggae, punk and ska. No, thank you. I rather grow up.
Can you tell that I don’t give a fuck about this stuff, well-played though it may be?
If I want punk, I’ll play me some Bad Religion and be done with it. Not
this juvenile bullshit drivel that is just punk-hero worship. Fuck
Suburban Noize Records, fuck this album, they are not going against the
grain (hah, what a pun), they are conforming to exactly the stereotypes
they’re rebelling against with this album.
Also the vocalist fucking sucks, and needs to take a good singing class. The dumb gang vocals don’t help. You know, this is just inferior punk. I don’t even know why I’m reviewing this or why they are sending me this shit but since they did I might as well. This stuff is some completely forgettable bullshit with catchy punk choruses that nobody needs to hear more than once in their life.
Also, the song titles are incredibly dumb and stupid. Think about it. Juvenile lyrics and juvenile simplistic music. I hath moved on. Don’t waste your time.
Recommendation: Go away. And hire Bad Religion to cover for you.
